ArcheAge Chronicles launches in Steam Early Access on 3 November 2026 at 3:00 PM PST. The price is $29.99, and it is a buy-to-play game: you pay once, there is no subscription attached to the Steam listing.

The time zone is worth planning around. 3:00 PM PST is late evening in Europe and the small hours of the next morning in Korea and China, so a launch-day group needs to agree on whose clock it is using.
What the $29.99 includes
The purchase is the base game. There is no deluxe edition listed on the Steam page, and no separate season pass. The only extra attached to the launch window is the pre-order costume.
The Early Access build itself contains:
- Three regions: Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains.
- Four classes, each with two weapons, for eight weapons in total.
- Exploration, dungeons, raids, PvP channels, housing, crafting, trading and company and guild activities.
- Four text languages with English and Korean voice-over.
XLGAMES has said the price may change at full release to reflect the additional content, and that any change will be announced in advance. If you are planning to buy eventually, the Early Access price is the lower one.
Why the game is buy-to-play
The executive producer explained the choice in the Early Access content video: the studio wanted a straightforward purchase rather than a subscription or a cash shop-led model, and set the Early Access price accordingly. The Steam page lists no subscription and no in-game currency bundle.
The pre-order bonus, step by step
Pre-ordering grants the Dawn Pioneer Set, an outfit available only through the pre-order package. Each pre-order includes one set for a single class of your choice, and it can be claimed in-game once Early Access launches.
How to claim it:
- Create a character and enter the main menu. The claim happens at the account/menu level, not inside the world.
- Hold the Claim Reward button in the upper-right corner of the main menu, or hold the N key. It is a hold, not a click.
- Take the Dawn Pioneer Outfit Chest from your inventory and open it.
Three restrictions come with it, and they all point the same way:
- Only the character used to claim the bonus receives the outfit. It is a one-time claim.
- Once claimed, the item cannot be transferred to another character.
- Claim it on the character you intend to keep.
The costume is cosmetic. It does not carry stats, and it does not affect progression.
Timing: should you pre-order or wait?
The honest answer depends on one thing: whether you know which class you want. The costume is locked to the character that claims it, so pre-ordering before you have decided means either claiming on a character you might reroll, or leaving the reward unclaimed.
If you are unsure, the safe play is to buy at launch, skip the costume, and spend the first evening trying weapons. The costume is a cosmetic; a rerolled character is a bigger cost.
If you already know you are playing, pre-ordering is strictly better: same price, plus the outfit.
What Early Access means for your money
The build is explicitly incomplete. XLGAMES has said Early Access will run roughly nine to twelve months, with major and minor updates, and that the full version will add regions, a third weapon for each class, more gender options, and expanded life skills and community content.
That is a normal Early Access trade: a lower price now for a game that will change under you. The studio has also been unusually direct about the state of the build, including acknowledging that classes are gender-locked at launch and that party UI issues were still being fixed after the network test.
If you want the full picture of what is changing, the roadmap page lists every commitment XLGAMES has made so far.
After you buy
The first thing to do is check that your machine meets the requirements, because the game asks for a 100 GB SSD and a 16 GB memory floor. System requirements has the full table and the practical notes on what the two presets actually target.
Then read your first ten hours. The launch build does not hold your hand past the opening questline, and the first Coilstone is easy to walk past.
